Last min request: Good restaurant in SF for a group -- some will be taking muni/some will drive in

I know I should know this but it's been ages since I've gone into the city for dinner, and I've never done it by train before.

We've got some driving in over the bridge (parking), and the rest of us taking the train in (incl me). We'd planned on going to The House, but I now see it's about 3 ft wide and no full bar. This is a meet-up of several online folks for the first time so don't know tastes/etc. but it should be comfy enough for folks to relax/get to know each other/have a cocktail.

We thought this was next week and realized it's tomorrow!

Any ideas -- know this is last minute.

Maria, check out Butterfly's website and see if that would work

for your group.
From some reason I can't link to the website, but if you google Butterfly restaurant, it comes right up. It's on pier 33.
Heather told me about it awhile back and I finally got to go over the holidays. Now it's our new favorite place in the city.
We loved everything we tried. Get the smoked salmon chips, whole lot of salmon for the price.

Thanks -- that was one I was looking at...when did you last go?

I ask because the recent reviews on Yelp are not so good/mixed.

We went between Thanksgiving and xmas for lunch

The service was excellent and we loved everything we tried.
Just waiting for the weather to get nice so we can take the ferry in.

How about Paragon Restaurant and Bar, which is near the train station.

Was going to suggest Slanted Door, at the Ferry Building...good food, great view of the bridge at night, but for those who are driving, the parking can be a bear and very pricey. You may wish to focus on restaurants in the SOMA (south of market area)...parking is easier to find and it'll be easier for you to get to coming in on the train, unless of course you're willing to take Muni to a destination, or take a taxi.

Lots of restaurants around the Ball Park too, or not far from the train station...like:

South Park Cafe

Restaurant Lulu

and lots more in the SOMA area, if you're interested in staying south of Market.
