We've decided to get together tonight last minute. It's a small group (6) and that cake above sounds fun, I even have blackberry jam I could sub, but not sure it would go all that great with crab.

Would like to pull something fun/festive together that's not too much work.

Thoughts?

you wouldn't eat the cake with the crab, so go for it if you have time. how about a chocolate fondue

have anything at home to chunk up for dipping? that's always fun for a group.

Do you have a bag of cranberries in the freezer? Nantucket Cranberry Pie is always a hit, with or

without ice cream. I like it without. Sprinkle some course sugar on the top before baking.

I'm out of time, need to leave in 45 mins - made lemon curd, now what to do with it?

I had planned on a cake, but the stores were BUSY and took much longer than I thought - grabbed a small back up chocolate cake thing from TJ's so I won't be empty handed.

Any ideas on what I could do with the curd? I'd like to use it since I did manage to get it made/chilled.

There is a Safeway on the way...angel food cake? Not even sure they have that this time of year.

If you can find a premade graham cracker crust, you can fill it when you get there. If possible, top

that with whipped cream.

Hi Barbara - thanks! It's been really rough for me, to say the least, but I'm glad to be back. I'm

not eating much lately, but talking about food will be a good diversion, and I can have a vicarious experience through all of you.

Too late but I always, always do the blender recipe pots de creme. Takes 5 minutes or less to make.

And you can vary it with whatever kind of chips (such a choco mint) that are on hand. Been making them for 45 years and even I don't get tired of them.
