Last night I was priveleged to enjoy a spectacular meal prepared by Joe. Whoa. He served

home-made fig and french breads with olive tapenade, chicken liver mousse and goat cheese for starters, followed up with his (if not now, soon-to-be famous) Chicken Provencal, a braise of Zucchini with Tomatoes, Olives and Onions, Basmati Rice (I think it was basmati) and Roasted Peppers Stuffed with Feta. Desserts were his Mom's recipe for Cream Cheese Pastries filled with his Peach Jam AND a Lemon Tart with Creme Fraiche. Yum.

Really a perfect meal with scintillating and oh, SO attractive hosts. (Did I mention just how attractive our hosts were? Did I mention the 3 bottles of wine? No? Good.)

Now kids, if you haven't tried making this chicken dish, for whatever reason, give it a go. It's really easy, REALLY tasty and a great make-ahead meal. Even better the next day.

I wanted to regale you with our evening because a) as CB and I live proximately to Joe, we've been able to share a table and socialize on a few occasions. Although vicarious, you guys should share that experience and 2) Joe offered me money to say this. Hah! (Thanks for a great time, Joe!) CB and I laughed and farted all the way home. Let's do it again, soon.

Your check is in the mail, Steve. You should mention the wine you brought--Pink Girl Rosé

which was perfect with the garlicky food.

It was such a fun evening--Steve is almost as hysterical in person as he is on the swap and CB is adorable. Since he was filling my glass, I'm not responsible for the fact that I drank most of the wine.

Did I mention the wine? Pink Girl Napa Valley Rose of Syrah. It's lovely box-wine with a bouquet

like an aboriginal foot. After the first 20 glasses, you don't even notice the smell. (Kinda like with me!) Good luck finding the stuff, though. Seems they only make about 4 bottles a year. http://pinkgirlwines.com/notes-syrah.html Still, well worth it and brilliant with spicy (but light) grocerias.

How cool is that?! What's better than being served top notch food from Joe and savings

on auto gas for your ride home with "organic" internal combustion?!! Let me guess, it was the Roasted Peppers Stuffed with Feta? Tee-hee

Good to hear you all had a great time!

Hey, I'm an environmentalist. Don't hold me and my peppers responsible for greenhouse gas emissions!

Not until Steve tells us what he had for lunch.

Joe gets a dollar from the poultry industry everytime someone makes a recipe he endorses. Help the

guy out, he's got Frenchie mouths to feed.
