Is it just me or is this stuff actually addicting? And now we have a Penzey's shop nearby!! Color me happy! (and almost as happy that it's not too close) Just took a 2 week road trip to see several friends and relatives, and I brought selections of Penzey spices as hostess gifts, definitely a good way to make yourself popular smileys/wink.gif
Grilled Artichokes
Artichokes, steam or boil as desired until done, but not too soft.
Olive oil
chopped garlic
smoked paprika
Warm olive oil in small pan, add garlic and let cook for a minute or two. Add paprika, swirl in, cook another minute then remove from heat.
Drain artichokes well, cut in half and remove choke. Paint artichoke with oil mixture making sure you get between leaves into all nooks and crannys, and all over heart. (Those new rubbery marinade brushes with the balls on the end work great for this). Set on oiled grill until artichokes are warmed with grill marks and tips of leaves begin to char, only takes a few minutes.
For each large artichoke I used about 1 Tbsp of olive oil, one garlic clove and about 1/8 tsp smoked paprika
