Lemon-Lavender Scones

The recipe makes 10-12 scones.

2 cups flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup sugar

1-2 Tbl lemon zest

2 tsp dried lavender

2 tsp vanilla

4 oz cold unsalted butter

3/4 cups buttermilk

Glaze:

1/3 cup butter

1/4 cup honey

1. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, soda, sugar, lemon zest and lavender.

2. Dice the cold butter. Cut into the dry mixture quickly so that the butter is pea sized.

3. Add the buttermilk and mix to combine.

4. Turn out onto a floured surface and pat into a smooth-sided shape 1" thick.

5. Cut into triangles and place onto a baking sheet.

6. Bake at 350-375 degrees 10-12 minutes or until brown.

7. Heat the glaze and brush on top of each scone immediately after they come out of the oven.
