Loaded with cherry tomatoes. I'm sure there was a thread on making and storing

Pick some green and make tomolives for an antipasto platter. Roast them to

raisin consistency and add to salads.
I think you could roast them and add some oil to keep in the fridge for a while. Also roast a whole bunch and puree to make tomato sauce. That would have great flavor from cherry tomatoes, I think.

When I have roasted tomatoes or peppers, I have "deglazed" the roasting

pan with just a little water and then frozen the veggie in that liquid. For the tomatoes, I have usually rolled them in some olive oil and basil also.

I had a SM (Steve Moment) when I made fig jam from fresh figs...and added a shot

of balsamic vinegar like he did.

Thanks, Steve!

Awww! He is surely missed. How did the jam come out? We have reduced sugar consumption in our

home, so I have not jammed.....

Last night on our menu was "blistered cherry tomatoes"--just sauteed

until they sort of collapsed and they were delicious!!

It's delicious. No pectin...just reduced on stovetop. Can't find the site again

It seemed like a missionary type blogger--she was canning 15 cups of figs at a time and I only had 3 cups. The reviewers were all mentioning going or coming back from mission trips (oh my gosh...i just realized my google search included MISSION figs!)

Anyway, it was just 3 cups of chopped figs (peels and all), not much sugar as they were sweet, lemon slices (peels, but no seeds) and some water to alow it to cook down. I think it was maybe 1/4 cup of each and then only 10 minutes stove top time to reduce. No pectin and i just put it in the refrig.

i wanted a bit more tang so i drizzled in some Moderno balsamic vinegar.
I'm going to use it on a grilled crusty bread, forest ham and brie sandwich.

This could also be called a "conserve". I have some figs from tJ's and am going

to make some. You could add another fruit (peaches--just a little) and some almonds. I serve it over cheese for an appy. Pistachios are alos really good in this.

I really shouldn't have made these dried tomatoes. I took them out of the oven

about an hour ago and have been snacking on "tomato candy" ever since. There probably won't be enough left to save so I may as well finish them. smileys/wink.gif)
