Lobel's versus D'artagnan for meat?

My sister wants me to mail order her a rack of lamb for Christmas. Anyone had experience with either of these companies?

I love D'artagnan too, have not tried the lamb but everything else I have ordered has been great

I did order beef from Lobel's once....just the same meat we get here at a good meat shop. Sorry that does not answer your lamb question, but more of a reference .

Always loved D'Artagnan products, BUT I preordered a ham at Easter and..

a few weeks later it went on sale. Now this 16 pound beauty was over a hundred dollars.

I called to see if they would honor the sale price, and was surprised when they wouldn't.

An emphatic NO.

I thought that by ordering early I was helping them to know what the market was going to be for the product.

Oh--the ham was exquisite.

Amazon has spoiled us by charging the lowest price, no matter when preordered. D'A could learn.

We received a wonderful package of rack of lamb, and lamb chops as a gift last Xmas

they were securely packaged, tasted phenomenal,
grass fed, humanely raised, etc from Colorado.

Does she not have a local butcher/store you could order

it for her? Costco has beautiful racks, as of course does Whole Foods and everyone else. The shipping on things like this get to astronomical amounts. Just wondering.

The store of choice is a Krogers.

You could do it yourself. Or call Kroger's to see if they'll order

it for you and she can pick it up.
