Jeez, Mar..still catching up news BUT that is 3 Mar, that is 3...no more your side of the net now...

hugs Lar and many more to you, your brother and g-niece.

Poor Larry! Wow... I'm sure that happens a lot more often than they are willing to admit to.

It's too bad they didn't warn you about the possible eye blurriness, but of course, that was probably on page 63, in the fine print. Oh, and I've heard about the "nurse" thing... I'm sure your hubby won't complain too much if you buy the cute LITTLE nurse outfit *g*

When you use the bedpan on your brother... make sure it has NOT been emptied first smileys/smile.gif (can you tell I HATE smoking!?)

Poor little Gracie - this isn't one she'll soon forget. At least she will probably get that coveted cast that everyone can sign smileys/smile.gif

Will keep you all in my prayers, lady!

OMG, sorry these things asr happening, and I hope things continue

with a more positive aspect. I know what you must be coping with. My BIL has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma (SP) We thought he had a chance that it wasn't but that hope now seems to be fading.

Yikes! What a scary story, so thankful all's well, but how frustrating to have to undergo

surgery because of a screw-up, no pun intended. I wonder how often a piece of equipment breaks during surgery. Lol on the Cherry Ames, I think I had those books when I was a kid, or if I didn't, my daughter did. My best to your husband, I certainly hope Nurse Ratchett isn't needed.

Really, really glad to hear dh, brother and niece are all doing well. You definitely need a vacation... or at the least, some of your chocolate ice cream sauce.

(((Marilyn))), Shirley McClain should play you in the movie. Or do I have that backwards?

I burst out laughing to read your reply to the receptionist who asked you (m)

"What procedure is he in for?" You nailed it and her, Marilyn! Having had LOTS of interactions with hospitals, I can perfectly envision the scenario that morning. Bet you got the red carpet treatment after your very accurate answer to that receptionist.

I'm so glad both your husband's surgeries went well. What a travesty that he even had to undergo the 2nd one, but unfortunately mistakes do happen in the medical world. I've put together a complete 3-ring binder with all my medical history (actually now I have two huge ones!), medications, copies of all lab reports, notes, etc., etc., and that documentation has saved me from errors on countless occasions.

I have also learned to tape record all consultations and important MD appointments so I don't have to waste time taking notes and can review the discussions later at home as I transcribe. You have to be an advocate for yourself AND your loved ones and leave nothing to chance or in the total hands of the medical staff.

Not sure how mobile your husband is, but we bought a baby wireless 2-way Intercom to put by the patient's bedside after our surgeries so the other guy could hear if the one recovering in bed needed anything. He/she didn't have to yell that way. Make sure you get one with a light so if you are vacuuming and cannot hear it, you'll know your husband is calling U as the light will come on. That thing saved lots of running back and forth by whichever one of us was playing nursemaid.

Best of luck and all good wishes for speedy family recoveries across the board!

Marilyn, you and yours have been through the proverbial wringer. Wishing you and your family

peace and good health.
