Our house was being shown yesterday afternoon and I needed something to pop into the oven when we got home (kicked out by the realtors for showings) and I had only about 20 minutes. I had all the stuff for the Baked Ziti dish so I put it together. I had mild Italian sausage, fresh basil, cream, all of it. But of course Cathy being Cathy I had tweaks too. I sautéed the sausage, cooked the pasta then the tweaks began. To the sautéing garlic I added chopped onion and diced yellow pepper. After dumping in a can of chopped tomatoes I added not only basil but oregano and granulated garlic. In went the cream, some black olives and extra red pepper flakes as we like spicier. I assembled it all with the cheeses and put it in the fridge. I appreciated the fact that it would only take about 30 min to bake and it was good. I'd make it again. Maybe next time I'd add some fresh spinach too....or zucchini. Really a forgiving recipe.

Oh no! Visiting you & hubby & parrot & bowling alley counter were on my bucket list. Ah well,

this is why God invented erasers. Ix-nay goes the bowling alley counter because a real visit with you can happen anywhere.

Good luck with the sale!

Marilyn, you can visit via photos if you like

send me an email at czadel@gmail.com and I will send you the link to the photos just taken a couple weeks ago by the realtors

1) CathyZKauai, so glad to hear your liked the Baked Ziti I posted and also that it saved you for

supper! I have been amazed at how many times someone at this site has shared a recipe that has perfectly fit my needs at the exact time I needed it.

2) I loved all your tweaks. I had thought of adding sautéed mushrooms and fresh spinach the next time I make that dish.

3) You are way TOO YOUNG to be downsizing!

Very forgiving recipe for sure

Almost anything would work I think.

Old. 72 in Dec. Still working full time smileys/smile.gif
