Made this last night for dinner - very good and different

lorijean, how critical do you think the *black rice* is to this? I have so many

diffenent grains that I hate to buy another one. I wasn't very happy with my black (or was it brown?) quinoa. It didn't seem to fluff up like the normal stuff.

 
Black rice is kind of chewy, but not tough. I don't think regular rice

would be as good. If any of your other grains have a chewy texture then I'd say go for it. I bought mine at Trader Joe's
