Made this over the week-end and it was delicious and Easy....Strawberries and Potted Cream

Last week I bought strawberries (hope springs eternal) & they tasted like wooden drawer pulls.

I HATE this time of year...all these recipes with beautiful berries, garden vegetables, flavorful tomatoes.

(On the other hand, I could be on Ensure, so I should shut up and be grateful.)

 
Marilyn, I know I mentioned this before to you, I thought Florida was a food mecca

aren't you able to get strawberries from CA? They seem to be producing enough to go around? However, I have noticed that so many are producing those strawberries with white centers that are hard. That is NOT the strawberries I know and love and grew up with. They are produced in CA so early now, and several different varieties are planted. The beautiful, red all the way through, came on early the end of April, first part of May and were so sweet. Now, we are getting some white in the berry variety.

 
California berries we get (year round)are all the white core tasteless variety. I have just

decided that strawberries and tomatoes are only bought local and in season. The strawberry season is over here now--or close to it. Tomatoes are beginning and are wonderful.
