Major move in the horizon, need some help with gas range

We are moving! In just 3 weeks, we'll be relocating from Norman, OK to Manhattan, KS

the lab moves a couple of months down the line

We are incredibly busy, of course, and trying to make some important decisions, for instance which range to buy

Right now we are in Manhattan, and got a pretty sweet deal from the major appliance store in town, involving Jenn Air appliances (a 36 inch range, dual fuel, electric griddle in the center, convection oven - modelJDRP536WP), a refrigerator , a hood, and a dishwasher

my question for you, folks.... do you think Jenn Air is a trustworthy brand? The fact that they have the technical service available in town is also a plus, I think....

not a bad problem to have, but some help is appreciated!

(Consumer Reports doesn't rank ANY of the appliances involved in the deal, and I could not find a single customer review anywhere I searched)

Did you look at:

http://www.consumersearch.com

I have had good luck researching things there. Also, what does CR say about the reliability of the brand in general.

Learn from my mistake - buy a bigger hood than you think you need and mount it high enough that there is no way Phil will bump his head. I bump my head on my wimpy hood on a regular basis. Very annoying.

They don't rank this particular model...

... in fact, I could not find anything for Jenn Air in the site

I am leaning against it - got some feedback from Gary (Cook's Talk) and he said Jenn Air is one of the least reliable companies, he would not recommend it at all.

We are looking into a Wolf, as the authorized dealer is not too far from Manhattan

I renewed my subscription to Consumer Reports, but will probably cancel it next month, didn't help us much to make a decision.

I vote for Wolf over Jenn Air

I have many acquaintances who have hated their Jenn Air stoves- I work at a resort that has them in every unit and they are nothing but trouble to the maintenance staff. That does not mean all Jenn Airs are bad but I sure haven't heard much good about them.

Wolf is overpriced but good overall from everything I've heard.

Thanks, Cathy

We have a Wolf under our radar, tomorrow should be a big day to make decisions...

will report back, but it's looking good for wolf in the kitchen... let's hope the dogs won't mind!
