Luisa, I did at home on both my desk top and lap top. DH fixed it for me! Work has been fine.
"Scareware" / "Rogue Security Software" this link is from Microsoft.
It is most likely what you are experiencing. If you are using Windows, I see this sort of thing happen typically from installing a toolbar or game that seems harmless, legitimate or even beneficial but it installs stuff surreptitiously.

I get it too on my laptop but not on my iPad. Laptop is running windows Vista but I can't
recall down loading anything new lately.

Sorry I don't know how to do that, besides it fades out pretty quickly
Just last week learned how to do screenshots, for a survey I was participating in. But faster
and easier, I've found, is taking a photo of the screen with my phone and then uploading to email (Paul, would that work for you??).

it's on the upper right hand side). When the message appears, hit that button. Then go to e-mail, a Word document, or Paint and paste ( right click and select 'paste') Voila! A picture of your screen--including the dreaded error message will be available to share with Paul.
The thing is, there's a lot of useful information in that message (for super-sleuthing purposes). A screen shot is the best way to convey that information and move towards the fix.
