Maria, have you (or anyone!) made the Sprinkles Strawberry Cupcakes recipe you posted?

Melissa, would this use the sugared package of strawberries, or unsweetened? I'm thinking it needs

the syrup.

I've eaten them via their bakery, but I make a version of Melissa's recipe...

...when I make a strawberry cake. It's so good I've never tried anything different and I'm sure would make wonderful cupcakes.

I'm sure if the recipe is like the bakery it's good, maybe not quite as sweet as the party cake recipe, but I do like the strawberry cream cheese icing better than the standard that is on the Sprinkles version, not that it's not good. I just like the added layer of flavor you get with the cream cheese.

Maria - I see the only difference in your recipe is twice the oil!!

I wonder what difference that has in the finished product.

Thank you both -- they sound like just what I'm looking for smileys/smile.gif

Hummm, well that sounds gross doesn't it? ....but it tastes great - really.

I see hers has water too and mine doesn't. Hers says 2 layers, mine says 3. (I've always made it as a 3-layer.)

Maybe it's moisture? Denseness? It's really moist.

Clearly I have no idea. (I know, not helpful.) However, I've been asked for the recipe several times.
