Let me repeat that beautiful sentence:

Of course, they are not all perfect, and no one has individually stacked them in a perfect column using a plumb line but hey...

Extra Choice. Blenheim. California. $8.99!

I was in such a rut of constantly looking for CA apricots that I still scan stores for them. I finally got to visit a Trader Joe's in Orlando (where I HAD CALLED AND WAS TOLD THEY HAD NO CALIFORNIA APRICOTS) and here was the dried fruit section and yes there were the Turkish dried apricots. Right next to the unsuflured dried Turkish. Oh, and there were the ones from Turkey.

But then WAYYYYY back on the shelf I saw that beautiful, deep dark orange and my heart did a little flippy flop and I pulled it out and Yes!!!!!

So I pulled out ALL the bags there and this was the only one. The Orphan.

And now it's mine. ALL MINE!

Of course, the TJ employee who manages the dried fruit section now has a mess to clean up.

 
OMG, that's totally major!!!

Now I'm going to have to check mine -- the other day I only saw ones from Turkey.

I think this was a freak MarMorial Weekend Special though. smileys/smile.gif

Marilyn, I'm looking, too! Every time I'm at TJs, I dig through the packages of apricots, thinking of you. Have only found Turkish at our two local TJs - so far smileys/wink.gif. Colleen
