I cannot wait to start baking breads now.

And since I'm the official mushy one here, I have to say that I think this shows what wonderful people we have amongst us at this place. Name one other site where someone would have taken it upon themselves to buy a load of something, divide it into smaller stacks/parts, get boxes to fit them all in and ship them to all corners of the world to people one have never met.

I'm still in awe over this. I think it's such a wonderful gesture, Marilyn! We don't have a Nobel price for the best internet friend yet, but if we did, I'd nominate Marilyn for this years price!!!!

Well, damn I'm really impressed with the post office now!

And thank you, faerie girl, for your kind words. I'm just grateful folks were willing to share in the booty.

Let the baking begin!

About 6 years ago I became e-mail friends with a regular at Gail's. Susan was gracious...

enough to send me Meyer Lemons from the tree in her backyard several times. How wonderful is that? I've never seen them in the stores here, before or since, and they were a delightful treat! The lemon bars were out of this world, and the actual lemons themselves were absolutely beautiful!

I will vote for that!! But a question, do we spray these with non-stick spray, or grease and flour?.

and should one bake on a sheet? Have only used my little pans that nobody gets to keep!
These will look so much nicer than wrapping a naked loaf.

Thanks

Aren't they a bit waxy inside? If so, I would say no spraying necessary (or only a bit). I think..

your idea of baking on a baking sheet is a good one, Nan!

We were posting at the same time, I think I remember you refering to the lemons.....

Have you tried to grow a Meyers tree? I would think it might work in Georgia? I have been meaning to get a kaffir lime tree as a house plant, guess they do not bear fruit as a house plant, but the leaves are a great herb. I just have to wait till I am home long enough to make sure it is established and happy here.

Sorry I haven't got back to you! Got on ferry, and had great time visiting with former....

shipmates. Also got an e-mail about work as I was leaving hotel in Whittier. PM soon I promise.

Whoa, she got hers before I got mine! Still haven't seen hide nor hair...

But that's Canada Post for you.

I totally agree with Eva's sentiment!

Me too! Dear Susan gave me wonderful lemons and it's so wonderful to have such a good friend!

(((hugs to you Susan!))))

and the lemons are amazing. I found that if you wrap them in paper toweling, and store them in the crisper bin of the fridge they will keep for months.

My pleasure Debbie and Heather! I loved sharing them. >>>>

I hate it when you want to try something people rave about and then can't get the ingredient!
I don't have any now, but come January I should be ready for operation Meyer lemon drop again!
I'm sorry for what happened at the swap, but am glad I still have the friends I made while there. ((((()))))
Thanks Mimi for such a great site!
