For those of you not on the Facebook EPI group, Marilyn from Florida (left) was in NYC this weekend! Saturday we had a lovely afternoon touring chocolate shops, natch, and the Brooklyn Bridge. On Sunday we had lunch at Todd English Food Hall and then walked in Central Park all afternoon -

So great to finally meet after maybe, what, 20 years online?!?!

Come back soon Marilyn, still lots to see, do and EAT!!

Aww, so sweet. Either Marilyn, you are taller than I expected or

Sandra, you're a shrimp...;o)

SHRIMP!

Hahahahaha! I said the same thing when I saw the photo smileys/wink.gif

I'm 5'5" and I do think M is taller than me, but don't we look cute? I should find the other photo where a guy decided he loved us and phto bombed the photo...

...and she's back in humid FL.

I had a great, but tiring time.

Sandra, THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing your humor and friends with me. Heidi is a hoot! Just watched her Pedibike Youtube with Conan O'Brien. I'm working on your family heraldry crest which will include towels in one quadrant.

Erin, I'm SO SORRY that I whussed out on dinner and the chance to meet you. I was just so very tired. One of my goals for this trip was to walk A LOT and my pedometer clocked out at ~95,000 steps. That's approx. 43 miles over four days with my short legs. I went back to the hotel each night and soaked my back and legs to get ready for the next day.

One night I actually had a serious discussion with myself about being in one of the most exciting cities in the US and how I should get out there in the nightlife. The feather pillow won that argument.

By the way, I'm not actually that tall...I'm long-waisted, but God compensated for that by giving me stumpty legs. My internal body clock was stuck on the 4-5:00 AM "Wake UP, MARILYN!" the entire time. One morning I refused to look at the clock and went to the window to see if I could figure out what time it was. My midtown hotel view faced TALL buildings and so I bent and bent and tilted my neck and finally did a Exorcist head spin and STILL couldn't see the sky. One morning I forced myself to wait until 6:00 AM to cross the street, grab a great cup of cheap coffee and start walking. Usually, it ended up at EssABagel "grab and walk." I had to FORCE myself NOT to carry home a loaf of chocolate babka.

Click on the link to see what I think of all of you for helping make this a great trip for me.

wigs, I was touring MoMA's architecture wing and saw this model by Robery Venturi:

Robert Venturi is "one of the major architectural figures in the twentieth century" (WIKI) and wrote his manifesto called "Complexity and Contradiction in Architecture"

You know...just so you realize he's no slouch.

Yet when faced with genius, here's my FIRST thought on seeing one of his models: "Hey, I could make that out of gingerbread."

Is the Linzer Tart missing...or eaten???

Definitely my choice over MOMA "food" smileys/wink.gif

So sorry that you had to spend time finding out where the gift came from. I tried to include my name all over everything - and at Lexington package pick-up - so that you wouldn't have to worry.

Delivery.com was a dream to work with. Ess-a-Bagel called me to change the muffin type when they found that they were out of blueberry crumb. And the delivery person called to say that the treats had been delivered.

I really hope that you had a wonderful experience at the Lexington. I'm so jealous! I wish I'd been in New York, too.

(Darn, should have sent the chocolate babka! I had it in the original cart but was afraid it would be more difficult to eat - and share - than individual items. So glad you made it to Ess!)

Thanks for the shout-out! Colleen

No...no Linzer tart. The only thing I ate before thinking of the photo was a bite

of the chocolate chip cookie. You can see the missing nibble at the bottom. And that muffin was great. Very tasty!

it was actually fun tracking down your name...a sweet adventure!
