Marilyn, what was the ultimate fate of GBH?

You must be fuming!

All that hard work...and to have the thing lost in limbo like that. I'm so sorry.( Well, when you do hear, let us know.

Here's what I just wrote this morning to my old roommate:

GBH? It’s sitting on display in the hallway at work. No word on what’s going to happen to it. The coordinator has bigger issues...people aren’t donating, bike count is way down this year, the warehouse for storage is closing a week early which means the collection time was reduced a full week. I’m trying to be Zen about the GBH....did it for a good reason and put it out there to help raise money. If it’s not used, I can’t afford to get depressed about it. Life is what it is.

It is making a lot of people smile. My coworkers keep stopping at my

desk to relay "overheard" conversations. The most frequent:
"I want to eat that entire roof!"

Earlier this week, I had put a sign on the base: "Toys for Tots Donation -- Please do not touch".
Then I was walking past on Wednesday and four gentlemen from our area were up-close and looking inside/around it. All of these men have gray hair...or no hair at all. One spotted me, pointed to one of them and yelled: "He touched it. He touched it!"

"No I didn't! You touched it"

"Yes, you did! I saw!"

They had suddenly reverted to 6-year olds. Gray-haired, 6-year olds with big smiles.

So I guess the Zen part is working. GBH is generating good feelings, if not cash.

Funny. I'm sure you've thought of it already, but if all else fails, you could take

it to a children's ward of a local hospital on Christmas Eve... no one's going to be buying tickets for a raffle by that late date.( Geesh, that's a shame, but know that you are - and have been - spreading joy WHOEVER ends up with it!
