Marilyn's 2024 Gingerbread House

So now it's officially Christmas season once again. I don't even want to know how much time you spent on this masterpiece but it is again, spectacular. So many little creatures all getting along.

OMG! this is amazing! You are a master Gingerbread House builder!! The attention to detail is fabulous. What a labor of love and a gift that you have. Thank you so much for sharing with us!!

It’s not Christmas without your gbh! This is stunning! So many amazing details! (even my nephew’s name on the bike!) How did you make those fabulous windows?

Thank you all. Here is some info:

Clues inside house: leg lamp and Red Ryder gift package
Clues outside house: burglar, snowman with nose stuck to pole, FRAGILE box

Windows are purchased pastry gelatin sheet (4 sheets = 1 package of Knox gelatin)

Shells are made with a candy mold. I brush thin coat on, then mix puffed wheat cereal with melted white chocolate and fill the rest of the shell form. Makes them lighter and adds a bit of reality to them, versus mold of solid white chocolate.

Delivery was in my Subaru...always fraught with angst going down my 100' steep driveway.

Library patrons are smiling. My job is done.

PS: Second dessert class went very well. 16 sign ups, 14 confirmed, 11 showed up. I had made two batches of caramels the night before (one with pecans) and 2 flans. Topic was Sugar Caramelization and during the class, I demo'd my caramel (Thank you Forever, Theo Chocolates!), they sampled the prepared caramels...and then the class applauded when I flipped the flan and it didn't fail!

Caramel still scares me, lol. Not that I've attempted it in many years. I've been wanting to try making flan too. Lucky class attendees!
