in the group! Barbara and her DH and their friends(my new friends, bonus!)from Juneau took the train from Denali to Anchorage and then spent the night at the cutest B&B. We closed the bar at Simon and Seaforts. A good time was had by all! (I'm on the right as you look at the picture and Barb is of course, on the left. the lilacs are just stunning this year)

Ang, how wonderful to get to meet you too, and on such a spontaneous minute! Thank you so much...

for meeting us at the train station and getting us to the inn. We all had a great time at dinner, both the food and company were terrific smileys/smile.gif And Ang packed us up such a terrific bag of goodies for the plane ride, it included homemade smoked salmon-to die for-and homemade cookies and that just scratches the surface of it's contents! I am surely the lucky one smileys/smile.gif Ang, can't thank you enough, I had a great time and really enjoyed meeting up smileys/smile.gif

there was a lilac "tree" by the B&B. honestly, big like a mighty oak. big.

They wither here--they need the cold winters. In France I see them thriving in cracked pavement

and blooming like crazy. I'm supposed to placate myself with Bird of Paradise and Bougainvillea. Pshaw.

My Chicago mother missed lilacs so much we special-oerdered them for Mothes' Day.
