Had a few cakes and tortes in my time, but this one? Oh my!!! This is a keeper!!!

PS: I don't think the pix truly capture how BIG this cake is. This pile was almost a foot tall. It was supposed to be big, medium, and small layers like a wedding cake, but we didn't want to do that. This is a 9"inch wide X12" tall version. It's biblical in proportions.

I think a happy compromise would be to move to 10" inch pans.

But this cake left everyone's chins dragging the floor.

Holee cow!!!! What a stunner! Could someone point me to the recipe?

I don't know if I'd every have the occasion to make it, but I want that in my recipe file!

 
I read the recipe but don't understand. Is marzipan a layer between the 3 cakes? It says to cover.

I'm trying to envision the texture. Is it a bit chewy?
