One of my favorites for Memorial or the 4th is Fruit Pizza
For the 4th of July or MM weekend I make this with strawberries and blueberries for a patriotic theme. It's always a crowd pleaser when it comes to taste/kids as well.

for this first big long weekend of grilling, we tend to like traditional items. later in the season
we long for something different. we're doing some small steaks marinated a bit and grilled corn and bakers. the Middle Eastern layered dip for snacks(in T&T) I have some peaches in the freezer, so a simple single top crust pie to use up the peaches and some berries too. we're usually cleaning and prepping the fishing area this weekend, so don't like to get too fancy. hotdogs will show up one day.
