Merry Christmas to all from the Northwest

Very nice!

I miss the Northwest. Growing up I spent summers between Bremerton, Bainbridge and Seattle. Later, my husband and I lived in Bremerton for 3 years, which is where our son was born.

When my Mom and Dad retired, they left San Diego for Leavenworth, Washington.

The little Bavarian village up the road from the apple orchards of Wenatchee.

Beautiful little town.

We lived in Renton, Wa. for 12 years and we drove over to Leavenworth

many times just because it was so beautiful and the town is so endearing.

When in Charleston, SC recently I was asking a legal secty for directions to her office...

she gave me the address and said that it was across from "Trader Joe's" I got very excited, not knowing that Chas'ton HAD a TJ's, and expressed my glee. She said, "well, ok."

Driving up to the office I had to laugh at myself. Trader Joe's is a place where you expect to find just the right car part to fix up your old rag.

I didn't explain, just let it go....

I thought about linking to this adorable town so I'm glad you did. It's

beautiful any time of year, winter or summer, doesn't matter. So if anyone is traveling and it's possible to make a side trip, do it.

Late October. (I know I'm cheating a bit, but it looks the same now, only wetter.) It's Pacific Ave.

in Long Beach (just north of PCH, and just east of the beautiful L.A. River.)

It's a bit depressed now, but at one point the Wrigley Family had a home there, and stayed there on their ways to and from Catalina Island, which they owned outright. The Art Deco architecture is from that period. It's still called Wrigley Village, and this is our "Wrigley Village Community Garden."
