Meryl as Julia. this was posted on another forum, interesting?

I enjoyed that blog also...Funny way of describing food/life/living in NYC. I think it was her

tripe day, that really made me laugh.

I was one of the earlier followers. Used to correspond with Julie and contributed to "the cause".

I was able to follow her adventures as she got the book deal, began writing professionally and then the movie. Really great to see how far she's come from the blog. It's unfortunate however, to note how editors have homogenized her unique voice.

Steve, thank you so much! I've treasured this cookbook ever since I recieved it as a

wedding present in 1968, and I always dreamed about working my way through it, but only recently have had the liesure time to play with it. I'll look forward to the movie, and to try to follow "the cause". Yes, I will really enjoy it!

My son went to college with Julie.

So as I read the book (unfortunately not the blog)I really identified with her. She and my son were in a musical theater group and at one performance, she sang something from Caberet dressed in a bustier (sp?). In the book she wears that same garment to the office one day (I think because the process was beginning to add pounds). At any rate the picture that this evoked for me was priceless.
