Everyone loved it and the hostess asked for the recipe. I was really lucky with the melons I chose--they were very sweet so the whole thing was marvelous. I tasted the syrup right after I took it off the heat, and was a bit concerned because it was so gingery; it was ok for me--I love ginger, but I thought it might be too much for others. However, the flavor mellowed quite a lot after it had sat for an hour or so. I served the fruit with some ginger cookies and angel food cake. Thanks a bunch for the recipe--definitely a keeper. smileys/smile.gif
