DD who engineered DH's gift of her cookbook for my birthday also engineered our going to her book signing this afternoon. I cannot stand for long periods so she said she would stay in line and I could come when near. The bookstore owner is a real gem--a REAL hometown owned bookshop--and DD asked if there weere chairs. She took me inside to the area Vivian was signing books and I got a front row seat in a big easy chair. Every person has an Iphone, of course, so every person had a picture. She was cordial to all, and her smile is as genuine as it gets. It took a little over an hour. DD is also a gem--made great friends in line!!
And her food truck was there--they sold tickets online and they were mostly gone in about 30 minutes. We didn't do that--they served her chicken and rice.
Again, it is a wonderful book. I had some markers in it and she took a look--one was for a T'tiving stuffing. She said not to miss it--and a mustard green gratin, as we were moving away--I said I already had it on the list and marked. Nice time.
