posted awhile back. The marinade is much like the old Steak and Ale marinade that I loved years ago. When I saw in the article that the founder of HRG had been a busboy at Steak and Ale years ago, I thought it was probably more than just coincidence the marinades are so similar.
I marinated Prime grade top sirloin, cut into kebabs for 8 hours and think they could have gone a little longer. We really enjoyed the taste of the marinade but next time I am going to switch out the onion for some crushed garlic as some of the copycat recipes for the Steak and Ale marinade I've used do. The onion might have a bigger impact if marinated longer as the recipe suggests for steaks.
I had two lbs of meat and used 3/4 the marinade recipe and it worked well. I will definitely use the marinade again, perhaps for steaks next time.
