It's straight out of CI, and it's the only one I make now (peanut butter cookie, that is). Thanks..

...for the tips and the compliments.

Blister peanuts? I used "dry roasted" with this a few years ago.

Know anyplace to buy blister peanuts other than Trader Joe's?

I'm downscaling my online shopping these days, so a nationwide chain (like Target or Walmarts) I can go to directly would work.

Marilyn, I bought some lovely roasted peanuts, no skins, in the bulk section of our Fred Meyer store

which is a Kroger company. They are not dry roasted. I placed one lovely peanut in the center of each cookie before baking, instead of doing the fork cross thing, and they really looked nice. The peanuts are on sale this week, so I stocked up, and pecans were also half price---yay. Now I can make the blue chip cookies with pecans.

FM is in the northwest. Which stores around you have bulk foods? Many moons ago I lived in Pensa

Pensacola, and I remember that there were no bulk foods available because of the humididty and creepy crawlies down south. Good luck in your search. I have made these with dry roast too in a pinch. I actually didn't see much difference, but I also prefer to use the roasted instead of the dry roasted, just because. How about health food stores where you can grind your own peanut butter? You should be able to buy just the peanuts there.

Ang, we have Costco, BJ, and Sams...but I don't shop there. Cheezz, thank you!, but

I've successfully navigated through this weekend without ANY peanut butter and I've decided to pass on this recipe. Too deadly for me...too many calories and I've got too far (ha, I just typed "fat") to go at Weight Watchers. Thanks, though...kind, kind offer.

good resolve Marilyn. when I mentioned "bulk" items, I didn't mean the big box stores but in the

grocery stores where they have bins of nuts and grains and flours, usually near the produce dept. But, like I mentioned before, I didn't find many in Florida because of the humidity etc. Anyway, if you ever decide to give pb cookies a try, remember this recipe.

If you change your mind, let me know. My Trader Joe's is close enough to walk to smileys/smile.gif
