Michelle, help!!! I'm making your buttermilk scones, 9558.4, you have 1 TSP baking powder and 1/4

barb, I'm jumping in in case you're standing at the counter waiting...I scanned

a batch of buttermilk scones online and the Baking powder was typically a 4:1 ratio to Baking SODA.

So, I think you'd be okay going with 1/4 tsp baking soda.

Michelle, sorry for jumping in on your recipe. Barb's three exclamation points drove me to action.

(plus, I'm really bored right now.)

Thanks Marilyn, I've been running from kitchen to computer to check for an answer. Thanks!!!!

sorry about that Barb! yes, it's 1 TSP b powder and 1/4 tsp b soda>>

I've edited the recipe as posted! serves me right for rattling off the recipe from my head (my hands know how to throw the ing together better than my head, apparently!)

They were delicious!! Family has eaten them and asking for more!

I will try the cream with skor bits tomorrow.
Thanks for your help!

michelle, how is your catering/lunch business doing? Are you looking forward to market season again

Hi Ang - really well, thanks! Our market now has a year-round, permanent home, so>>

I've been doing the Market straight through - although it is slower after christmas (because of the dwindling produce & several vendors taking holidays), my average week is roughly 80% of what I was doing just before Christmas.......so I can't complain smileys/smile.gif

Because of the Market in it's new location doing so well (my business increased about 3 fold), I've been able to pretty much give up the catering, which made life so stressful & unpredicatable. Right now it's pretty much just 2 cooking classes a week & the Saturday Market.

I'm really enjoying the balance between my personal life & my business........hoping it continues that way!

interesting turn---for awhile, didn't it look like the catering/lunch would take over?

I'm so glad you have found a good balance. what more can we ask?

yes, it did (& was) - the catering was def. taking over my life in an unpleasant way........

continually messing up my plans for the Farmer's Market, etc. When the new Market really took off, it became pretty clear that I could just focus on that (along with the classes), which made everything more manageable. My husband also finished up his Master's, so he wasn't available to shuffle our boys around anymore, so it was inevitable that the catering had to go. I hand-picked 2 christmas events, but I say no to about 99% of the calls that continue to come in.

I don't feel like I'm being pulled in 100 different directions anymore, that's for sure!
