microwave turntable replacement??

My glass microwave turntable broke with a loud bang one night while I was making popcorn. Is there a place to buy a replacement. The web site of the manufacturer listed one for 40 some dollars! I use it so rarely that I may just throw the whole thing out if I can't find a reasonable replacement. Thanks for your help.

Thanks Pat and Durwood......

I mean I use my microwave rarely. It is 10 years old and the various "parts" sites did not have the model listed. Emerson themselves wanted $44.10! I can't really use it as is because the black clover piece in the bottom is still revolving and things tip. Good idea about one of those windup turntable things. I saw one on Ebay.

Do you not have a switch on the front to turn off the turntable--

as I do when I am heating a dish that will not rotate. Sorry if this seems strange to ask, but I forget sometimes.
Can you unscrew the mechanism? Mine would not bother a dish as it is slightly recessed.

For a little bit more than the cost of replacement, you can get a new microwave>>

I'm not sure if yours is a built in, but you can get decent countertop microwaves for about $50 now.

I have one of those windup turntables in my storage closet, as I haven't have a microwave since we moved about 4 years ago.

It is in excellent shape, and I'd be glad to send it to you if you'd like it.

Thanks Lisa, what a great board......

I will be glad to send you the postage cost and would welcome your wind up turntable. If I were a heavy microwave user I would agree with you and get a new one for $50.00.

Janet, I think you should edit your address out of the message--send a

private message to whomever you want to contact.

Yikes, definitely.

NEVER post personal contact information publicly! It's very dangerous. You never know who is "watching." Not to be overly dramatic, but still...it's one of the cardinal rules of the Internet.

I now know, but I don't know how to edit my address out of the message.....

I think I sent a private message to Durward this morning but I'm not to savvy on how this thing works.

Hi Janet (more)

to edit your message....You open up the post that you would like to change

Then on the left side, in the yellow portion, you click on "Edit message"

You make changes, then click on "Save edits"

Hope that helps!!

Regards,
Barb
