On my Mac, I go back to wherever I was, on my Windows machine it goes ALl
the way back to the top of the previous page- (the page I accessed the post from) I just figured that it was another incidece of Mac superiority!!!!LOL!!!
It's not the machine, but the browser you are using.
Mozilla puts me back to the top of the page, IE returns me to where I was.
My solution with Mozilla is to open a post in a new tab, rather than the current one. Then all I have to do is close the new tab and my original window is still where I left it.
After the changes they did (when we lost the PM's) I found that it loads much>>>
slower. It goes back to the top and if I wait for it to completely load it will go back to where I was. If I click on anything before it finishes loading it will stay at the top. So now, like you Judy, I just open what I want to read in a new window and then close down when I've finished.
were actually not so much to the site itself as switching the whole site to another type of server in a new location. I'm bummed to hear it's slower for you, though!
One thing I've noticed is that the threads are really long. Right now I have it set to display 100 threads per page (and of course all the replies to each thread). I *can* set it to display fewer threads so it will load faster, but then the older threads will roll over to page 2 quicker. I hesitate to suggest that because I know what will happen. ) Half of you will say you love that idea and the other half will hate the idea and then I still won't know what to do! LOL
Well of course we will - HA! You're great Mimi... we'll live happily with whatever you decide.
My browser is Firefox. Sometimes when I hit the back button, it will go to the point I was at... most of the time, it just returns me to the top post. No biggie - I'm pretty fast with 'find'.
