Mixed Greens&Sausage Soup w/ Cornmeal Dumplings looks so good, great reviews. Anyone tried it?

Made it tonight. My family liked it. My wife liked it a lot... to the point where even...

...the dumplings grew on her.

At first the dumplings didn't go over very well. DW said the soup would be good without them. Then, as she made her way through the bowl of soup, she decided I should leave them in.

Everyone commented how the soup broth was very tasty and "deep". I used about a pound of mixed greens from TJ's (collard, turnip and mustard greens), cutting the big stems out.

I made the dumplings small, using a scant teaspoon measure. They swelled to just under golf ball size. Very tender. I used Red Mill yellow corn grits (polenta grind) and ran it through my food processor to grind it maybe half as coarse. The texture came through in the dumplings, and we enjoyed it. The dumplings also helped thicken the broth a bit.

The only changes I made were:

I used jalapeno chicken sausages from TJ's as we are not fans of andouille.

I added a half-tablespoon of vinegar instead of the pepper sauce, as the jalapeno sausages were hot enough.

I used 8 to 9 cups of chicken stock instead of 6. I just thought it needed more liquid.

A very pretty soup! Nice colors in the bowl. My family wants it again, so it's a keeper.

Oh, sorry! It thought is was very good too. Leftovers should be great tonight!

I love greens in soups and stews. I like southern style greens, but the bacon fat is not on my diet right now.

I'll definitely make it again.
