More on the price of LIMES: A few years back we started getting key limes, or, as they are also...

...known in these parts, "Mexican limes" in our supermarkets. They first started showing up in the Mexican markets, but now Kroger has them all year long.

The best deals are still in the Mexican markets. Usually 10-for-a-buck, or a reasonable charge per pound. Kroger goes 10/$1 too, but sometimes drops it to 5/$1.

Key limes are a bit more work since they are smaller, but you get a lot of juice out of each one, and if you simply trim off a small slice on either end, you can extract all the juice from a single lime at one pressing.

You probably already know this, but the juice is a bit more acidic than typical large limes, and has a more potent lime taste. I like this.

That's interesting, I think they are "sweeter" than limes and not

as strong a lime flavor. Isn't that interesting?

I think so Marilyn. I have a friend who lives in the Keys and

has a Key Lime tree in her yard. They always tasted the same as what I buy in the store. And I used to get them while I lived in Saudi that came from Egypt and they tastes exactly the same.
