Mrs. White's Whiskey Sours...with a spiked heel garnish

A dear friend recently wrote a loving tribute to her mother who would have celebrated her 100th birthday this week. In her honor, I shared this memory of her.

In our halcyon days, L and I liked to travel and since we were both working, our trips were limited to weekend stays. During those getaways we would stay at various colonial and Victorian inns dotting the east coast. Of course, me being me, I checked into each B&B under a different persona. In one particular colonial inn (which may or may not have had George Washington stay there), I checked in as Chloe.

Chloe, obviously French, came equipped with all the accessories that any slightly twisted Barbie doll fan would covet:

There was a “French maid” outfit, complete with lacy apron and frilly hat–all made from papier-mache...for...well, the reasons are obvious and need not be stated. Her luggage also included a pair of red spiked 4" heels, a bottle of whiskey, a carton of eggs and a blender...

…because doesn't everyone check into an inn with a blender?

God bless you, Mrs. White, and thank you forever for introducing me to cocktails. Chloe and I raise a glass in your honor.

Mrs. White’s Whiskey Sours

1 small can frozen lemonade juice

1 small can frozen orange juice

Fill both empty containers with whiskey

1 egg

1/3 C sugar

8-10 ice cubes

Blend!

LOL

years ago I was checking in to a colonial inn in Virginia. The woman in front of me was loudly giving all of her information to the little old lady at the desk. In a booming voice she said her name was "Lagertha" and and she had luggage that included a sword and shield. Was that you?

ps a down side of keto is no alcohol!
