My big sale find at the grocery this am. Beef Round Cube Steak. Any thoughts / recipes? 1.4lbs

for $3.00. Normally $5.49/lb; on sale for $4.49/lb then had day of sale coupons which brought it down to $3.00 for the package.

NOW, what to do with it? Always fun to try something new.

 
Wow, I haven't had cube steak in years. Mom used to salt and pepper it well

dredge it in flour and fry. I loved it! You could also make Salisbury Steak. with sautéed mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes.

 
I make steak fingers

I cut it in strips like the old steak fingers we used to get in basket dinners. I dredge in seasoned flour, then in egg wash, then in crushed saltine cracker crumbs then fry. Everyone always love them whether they remember steak finger dinners or not.

 
Swiss Steak

After you have tenderized it, salted, peppered, floured it, and fried it, make a sauce of sautéed onions, celery and tomatoes cooked down to thicken. Place fried steak over the top, or slightly tucked into the sauce for what is called Swiss Steak.

 
How long do you fry the steak fingers for? I have never cooked this

cut of beef before. It sounds good to me right now. Thanks!
