90 Miles Cuban

We recently enjoyed lunch at 90 Miles Cuban.

We used Goldstar to purchase tickets for a musical at Stage 773/Porchlight Theater. We thoroughly enjoyed the performance and there are 4 different productions located here. We were going to (but didn't - weren't hungry) have a late dinner after the theater at Fahlstrom's Fresh Fish Market nearby.

Giordano's deep dish pizza was highly recommended. Colleen

Loved "The Bean" at Millennium Park. Here are some restaurants we enjoyed

BISTRO CAMPAGNE - a lovely little restaurant in a neighborhood that was a little farther from downtown. We drove there in about 20 minutes but there is a rail line that serves this area.

CATCH 35 - As the name suggests, they specialize in seafood, but they do have other items on the menu. The tempura style soft-shell crabs were delicious served over fried rice. Another excellent meal was wild salmon with couscous. For dessert we really enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding which was more of a very light sponge cake with a great caramel sauce. They also have jazz here.

EMILIO'S TAPAS - Nice little restaurant that was within walking distance of our hotel where we had some very good tapas. Service was friendly and attentive and by selecting a variety of tapas you can get a meal at a reasonable price by Chicago standards.

XOCO - This is one of the restaurants run by chef, Rick Bayless. We were a little surprised to find that the setup was one where you have to order at the counter and then the food is delivered to the table assigned to you when you entered. The tortas (really sandwiches were excellent, as well as the guacamole; however, it was more of a place we would prefer for lunch, not dinner. After we left, we realized that their sister restaurant, Frontera, located next door would have been better for dinner. They have a more complete menu with full meals instead of sandwiches.

Agreed. Giordano's is my go to spot. Spinach, sausage, and mushroom Chicago-style. smileys/smile.gif
