My DD said she recently had some homemade sour cherry brandy.

Said it was absolutely wonderful. They used 2 pounds sugar; 2 pounds sour cherries; a fifth of barcardi rum. Then fernmented it for about 6 weeks (she wasn't sure how long). Has anyone tried something like this?

 
No but my brother brought over some pear wine he made. Sounded sweet and

icky. It was light, dry and crisp. Absolutely fantastic.
