My Saturday Six, sniff sniff...

Well, I made some hummus and some pizza bites to watch SU lose the semi-finals last night. Sad. They seemed to have fallen apart last night.

We made breakfast strata in the crockpot yesterday, and then breakfast for dinner. It was good, although I think I got mostly potatoes in my portion! Used some of my beer brats in it, and they were pretty good.

It's near 60 degrees today so we all took a nice, long walk at the lake. Ah... spring.

DH is making ham and asparagus lasagna with capers in white sauce tonight. Hmm... smells good, can't wait to taste it.

Yum, must try roasted pepper, goat cheese and honey-stuffed sweet potatoes this week. Sister-in-law adapted it from a WW recipe.

We took a drive out to the country this afternoon and bought some free-range brown eggs from a local farm (more eggs!). They sure were "free-range", almost running out onto route 31!! Luckily, not much traffic!

How did the lasagne turn out? Always fun to try different flavors than the traditional sausage /

ground meat or veggie. Curious how it worked out for you.

Bread, cake, meatballs, burned fingers...

Made a nice white bread with 80% biga (no wild yeast this time) - photo included. Recipe from Flour Water Salt Yeast

made turkey meatballs for later in the week with a secret ingredient (quick oats)

marinated chicken thighs in buttermilk/ and pre-roasted them for our dinner tonight

made the clementine cake

made a royal mess in the kitchen

cleaned it all up

Those are so beautiful! I miss my lemon and orange trees, when they bloomed it was heavenly.

reminds me of that great 60's song- lemon tree, very pretty and the lemon flowers are sweet...

I can't believe there are flowers and fruits in your gardens---I had to snowblow the driveway

last night.

what a beautiful loaf of bread! trying to add your picture

nope, doesn't work. maybe google+ pics need to be downloaded elsewhere to transfer

Don't show that bread to Richard! Carb alert! This looks wonderful! Curious about your chicken

thigh recipe. I love them, and always appreciate a meal that is made in stages. Care to share?

Best,
Barb

Too late! Ahh, beautiful homemade bread...

I really miss bread, and baking it. It just does bad things to me though smileys/frown.gif

But I slid down another notch on the scale this morning and I am determined to drop the last pounds to get to my goal.

I cooked all day yesterday and made the meals for the week. spinach, mushroom, and sausage frittata for breakfast, salmon muffins, cauliflower-saffron bisque, and garden side salad for lunch, and tonight is shepherd's pie, side garden salad, and nobake citrus cheesecake for a treat after dinner. 20 carbs total for the day!

I'm getting the hang of this low carbing.

The dwarf ones do really well...

in our zone 6. I have 2 limes and a lemon, winter them over indoors, and love picking the fruit off of them through the winter. The limes are out of this world.

I will first have it for dinner tonight, as I improvised it quite a bit (more)

if it turns out delicious, I promise to share! smileys/smile.gif

Yea, except my dwarf Eureka lemon is about ten feet tall and

probably 7 feet wide. 520 lemons last year and it is loaded with blooms. Needless to say, I make a lot of dishes with lemon. We love it, however.

I'm will look into it; The problem is that I know my strengths and weaknesses. I will kill it

indoors. But I will take a look at what is involved.

Hi Barb, thank for asking. It was really good and I liked

the addition of the lemon in the white sauce (his idea). Very good. Do you want the recipe?
