1. Shopped at Costco bright and early.

2. Shopped at Loblaws once the heavy rain stopped.

3. Shopped at the local green grocery for all the things I forgot at Costco & Loblaws.

4. Shaking my head wondering why I'm entertaining for the 4th Sunday in a row.

5. Sipping sherry while I contemplate what I'll make for dinner. Ah ha! Thai Thighs!

6. Smiling because it is now pouring and I am in the comfort of my home (with a glass of sherry).

My Saturday Six

Insomnia struck again so I've been very productive today.

1) I get to take a nap guilt free soon, yipee!

2) I cleaned out the fridge and I know exactly what's in there and sketched out some menu plans for the week.

3) I made a great breakfast on poached eggs in chipotle salsa, bacon and English muffin. At 5am!!

4) a BLT pizza is in the oven using Joe in the country's blog ( formerly of the desert) recipe for whole wheat dough and it seems to be working out perfectly. BLT = diced bacon and sliced leeks sauteed together, fresh mozzerella and halved grape tomatoes. It's almost done!

5) all my other chores are all done so I can go play for the rest of the weekend!

6) I'm getting some money next week - hooray! So now I can relax a tiny bit about finances and just focus on job hunting. Did some great networking on Friday that gave me some great leads so that's exciting.

A great weekend!!

My Saturday Six

Posting this because I am really whiny today, and I need a better outlook.

1. All the kids are healthy!
2. All the animals are healthy!
3. Just baked a ham (that I bought at Aldi's and froze, actually 4 of them, and they are very good, and I only paid $1.49/lb for a spiral sliced ham)
4. Lots of ham leftovers.
5. I am lucky enough to have an extra freezer in the garage to be able to store frozen hams.
6. I have a family that loves me.

Fresh asparagus at Farmer's Market

Visited with a friend/neighbor for two hours in her beautiful yard.

Leftovers for dinner, did not have to cook.

Gene(husband) got my new 24-inch monitor hooked up and running.

Tomatoes have lots of green tomatoes, and one Sun Gold type is ripe.

We are healthy...

My Saturday Six

-- White chili for lunch (delicious).
--Called my Godmother, who is in an assisted living residence.
--Video chatted with our son, DIL and their beautiful daughter, my first grandchild, who is 10 weeks old today!
--Filed a huge stack of recipes - most of them t&t's for a future Mom's cookbook -- thanks to the inspiration of some of my lovely friends here!
--Watched a thunderstorm and "gully washer" that we so desperately needed this afternoon!
-- Identified a couple of pick your own farms for blueberries early in June! (encouraged by the rain!)

Hi Sylvia - what kind of sherry?

I made some Mushroom Sherry Chicken for dinner tonight, and was wondering what kind would be good for sipping.

Insomnia - at least you made something of it! I usually try to go back to sleep, but eventually

you have to face the fact that it is not happening.

Almost forgot to tell you all, I went out to dinner last night at Market Bar in the Ferry Building

and for an appetizer we had Dungeness crab stuffed deviled eggs. They had a bit of chopped caper inside and parsley. What a brilliant idea, WHY didn't I think of this????

I really want more and am thinking about buying a crab leg or something just to make a few for myself this weekend.
