So I got a call late yesterday that I am going back to work for my previous employer working for my previous clients (prior to this last job that I got laid off from). So have to get back into the work mode - it's going to be hard after almost 5 months.

1) Breakfast at Cracker Barrel with mom and her sisters - they've been here since Thursday, Today was taken up with taking them garage saling and to see their cousin that lives an hour and a half from here that has cancer.

2) Missed my regular farmers market but I need to pick up a few things at the permanent market in Nashville and then hit the Wednesday market in East Nashville now that I will be working right across the river from it - great fresh food twice a week now - yippee!

3) Definitely a run to TJ's to stock up on some things for lunches and dinners

4) Try to hit the last day of the Food Network Southern Food Festival at Opryland Hotel

5) Get stuff ready to go back to work - I have to make a list - I can't remember what al I used to do

6) Go to bed at a reasonable hour because I have to get up early again.

Wonderful News! Certainly a huge compliment to your work that when they were able to

hire/re-hire, they sought you out!

Great news! I hear the talking heads on TV saying the recession is over. I doubt it, but maybe this

is a positive sign.

Some friends in Silicon Valley say dire things are about to be announced down there,

I'm really curious to hear the other shoe drop now. Especially after Yahoo's merging with MSN for their search function. But dies anyone else think that all this negative talk about the economy is really fueling the downturn??

I hope that just means, in Silicon V. terms, that their portfolios didn't do as well, this quarter..

and nothing worse... smileys/irritated.gif

NFRC My friend was intimating more layoffs and closures...

He was concerned for me because I'm still job hunting and more people will be flooding the market. I hope he's wrong...

Yeah - made me feel god - the client actually asked them to rehire me

and 'created' the position for me. And it gave me some negotiating power so I got most of what I wanted. It's comfortable and I have a chance to really make some changes this time around.

I was in facilities as a PM for a technology mfg & they are still cutting

they are closing facilities and selling or leasing them to third party vendors who don't pay as well and do more with less and such. One friend who is unemployed's husband also worked there and they 'transferred' him over to the third party vendor recently - cut his benefits, etc. but at least he's got a job for now. I did projects in 4 buildings - now one is gone and a second one will be gone by November.
