~I also made bran muffins yesterday

~Having company tonight so have some chunks of beef tenderloin marinating in a homemade teriyaki sauce

~Will be making lemon meringue pie...had leftover lemons from a batch of limocello started on Wednesday

~Will make a baby blue salad (Southern Living Recipe)

~Will see if any of the hydrangeas in the yard will make a nice centerpiece...this drought has not been good to our plantings!

~Brainstorming on how to jazz up rice to serve with the kabobs...think just a splash of sesame oil and a green onion garnish will have to do

Happy weekend!!!

Or a mushroom rice pilaf would go well with your kabobs. While the

rice is steaming, just sauteed some sliced mushrooms (domestic or cremini or even some wild mushrooms) in a little olive oil and/or butter, adding in toward the end some sliced scallions or chopped red onion, minced garlic, salt and pepper, then finish with a big squeeze of fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley. Then incorporate your sauteed mushrooms into the finished rice, and serve. Delicious, and so easy.

Great ideas!

I should have peeked back in here before dinner. That sesame rice looks yummy and I'll have to try a mushroom pilaf, too. Thanks, Pat.

Dawn, the kabobs have plenty of flavor with the marinade...but I think I'll grill some chicken kabobs and try a peanut sauce with them...something different for our family. Thanks for the idea!
