My weekend Six~

~Made an apple cake with caramel sauce for dessert...really delish!

~Made the chile rellenos casserole on this board (combined with another recipe). We all loved it...and my dad, who is visiting, had to go back for seconds.

~Cedar planked salmon for dinner tonight

~We were going to make a light box today (my dad is handy with this sort of thing), but may just bite the bullet and buy some equipment. Trying to get better food photos for my blog.

~Realized I don't have a normal bottle opener in this house...I couldn't open a jar of homemade jam b/c I always buy "pretty" equipment. Will put a church key on my shopping list.

~Need to figure out the next dessert to bake. Friends are coming over on Tuesday to bake red velvet cupcakes, but will give most away to them.

Hmm, I wonder if this would be good in a crockpot. My six:

- Went to Applefest and had hot cider and a chicken barbeque there.

- Traveled a little bit further north and stopped to pick peaches. "It's too late", so walked around and bought cider to bring home. They make wine there too (apple-cherry, apple-grape, all kinds of different flavors) but we didn't get any yesterday. There's always next week. It's fun going there, a "fair" type of atmosphere.

- 90 degrees here on Friday - not weekend, but worth mentioning, as it's about 25 degrees above normal!

- Planting a new tree in the front yard today. One of four keeps dying - this one will probably go too!

- May go to Octoberfest this afternoon - still haven't decided if I want to cook or have saurbraten served to me. I think I just decided.

- Sometimes just a sliced pear and blue cheese is a good breakfast ;o)

 
Isn't that chile rellenos casserole just amazing?! SO forgiving and wasy to play around with!

 
This reminds me - weren't we getting a link here where chefs/caterers/etc could post their websites?
