Need a $5-7 gift for Secret Santa lunch next week. I was thinking of a

cookie carrier (plastic round container) with a couple of cookie cutters and a sugar cookie mix.

Or a popcorn tub with a couple of bags of microwave popcorn and... ?

Ideas are limited due to the price ceiling, but I'd be interested in hearing your ideas or what you have given in a similar situation.

TIA!

Coffee spots like Starbucks and Peets have bagged holiday goodies this time of

year. Just picked up some chocolate covered cherries for $6.95 at Peets yesterday. They also had items like biscotti, and peppermint bark. Tasteful gifts, reasonably priced.

Also, holiday candles (scented or not) can be found in your price range at places like Pier 1, Cost Plus World Market, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc. The same places are good sources for holiday coffee mugs.

Your ideas are great, and I am sure will be well rec'd.When I have done this, and I agree the $ is a

fun challenge. When we have done this, I have seen:
picture frames, a nacho cheese theme, lottery tickets, movie theater candy boxes/micro popcorn in a popcorn plastic container.... Honestly, the one that was "the hit" a few years ago was someone that made the candy cake; which I am sure was all left over Halloween candy. It had great presentation w. balloons, etc. Everyone was trying to "Steal it!"

Someone once gave a big can of beans and it turned into the hot potato gift

I usually go to Tuesday Morning and get a nice ornament (I know, not very creative), but they have really nice ones for not much. They go over well.

If it doesn't have to sit out, bacon might be fun.

Dawn, just came back from the neighborhood craft fair at tne rec center and saw several very cute $5

gifts. Can't tell you haw to make them but one was a Hershey bar turned sowman. The bar was covered with a sleeve of white paper upon which somw buttons and a soft outline ofsnow was ptinted. Then with some fun patterened fleece she made a little scarf and hat. The scarf and hat could be used on a wine bottle after the chocolate was consumed.

Another really cute one was a dollar bill origami. It was somehow folded into a tiny 3D triangle that open to a Hershey kiss inside. There was also a tiny soft wire handle so it could be hung on the tree as an ornament. She haf all kinds of stuff made from dollar bills and then she made little cards with a greeting or poem that could accompany the origami like a leprachan boot, row boat, a cylinder that could hold more money or a roll of smarties, etc. I bet you could find some folding instructions on google.

Maybe these ideas will inspire you?

Thanks Barb, and everyone else too. I remember making ribbon hearts that you cut

into thirds lengthwise and then weave the strips together and it ends up holding dried flowers, a little ornament, or money. Wish I could remember how to do it. Maybe google will help.

I love all of these ideas. Maybe a cheap scarf at the dollar store could be cut up into pieces to make snowmen scarves. Thanks again!
