My about 5 year old Kenmore induction cooktop has stopped working. The repair will be at least $300, probably $500, maybe more. I am concerned that the part or parts that have failed will also only last about 5 years so am considering a replacement. It seems as if Bosch is the only brand without many bad internet reviews.

I would appreciate advice on whether to repair or replace and on the reliability of Bosch cooktops. Thanks in advance.

Agree completely with Richard. I wish I had replaced vs. repaired more than one of my appliances

I grew up with an "always repair philosophy". Unfortunately, I have learned the hard way that I would have been better off just purchasing new.

Same with the cars. I think my parents prided themselves on "running the car to the ground" As a result, I have done the same with appliances and cars, BUT, I have spent a fortune over the years on simple things the mechanic and appliance repairman does.

I've been using a Bosch smooth top electric cooktop for almost 3 months and really like it. It is 7

years old and seems to be going strong. My only complaint is the spinning pans, but pretty sure that would happen no matter what brand. I love Bosch dishwashers, have one here and had one for several years in Sarasota with no problems. Good luck, would love to know what you decide to do.

I also love induction

I was wondering specifically about the reliability of the Bosch induction cook tops. My Kenmore needs an expensive repair and I am thinking of replacing it.
