Need Creative thinkers on this one...

I am having an Olympics themed birthday party for my soon to be 7 year old. It isn't until next weekend but the long range forecasts are calling for rain. I have the entire thing planned if being outside is a real option. However, rain complicates things. I know it is still a week away so I don't need to completely freak yet but I want to be prepared. I need some ideas of a couple crafts that are Olympic themed that I could do inside. I was thinking of something around food. Cookie decorating or something but all I can come up with is the Olympic rings and those are boring. Is there anything else? How can I make an Olympic flame shaped cookie? Cupcakes? Bars? Help!

Thanks for any ideas you all might have.

Not food related; but for a craft, perhaps they can make their own medal? Or decorate a trophy?

Our local dollar store sells small, plastic trophies. Kids can decorate them with crayons, markers, etc.....

Will hope for good weather for you.....

Flame cupcakes: use a large open star icing tip

Take your icing (buy a pound of white buttercream from your local grocery store bakery) and tint 1/3 yellow, 1/3 orange, and 1/3 orange/red blend.

Open a large pastry bag and lay all three colors in the bag side by side (sounds more difficult than it is). Pipe out in a swirl on top of the cupcakes...the colors come out looking like a flame. Looks very pretty with several cupcakes by each other.

Thanks for all the ideas...

I will accept any and all others anyone has. I am struggling a bit with this one.

Gotta do something Brazilian.....

Cupcake Decorating Olympics

In the spirit of friendly Olympic competition (maybe have as many categories as there are kids?) you could have:
- Most original cupcake
- Tallest decoration
- Funniest cupcake
- Prettiest cupcake
- Craziest Cupcake
- Coolest Cupcake
- Scariest Cupcake
- Weirdest Cupcake
- Best Birthday Cupcake
- Cupcake Most Likely To Be Eaten First,
etc.
