I need something for a Christmas morning meal at work. I have to be inearly & do not have time to bake prior to going in. I was thinking something in the crock pot might work. I'd like something tried, since I do not have time for a trial run. My crock pot is 5qt. Can anyone help me? (Something sweet was requested)

Thanks!

Could you make an overnight casserole and stick it in the oven while ur getting ready?

I mean getting ready for work.

I've even done this with cinnamon rolls. Let rise in fridge over night, got out when

I got up, then stuck in oven just in time for them to be ready when I walked out the door. I have one of those Pyrex 13X9's with the insulated carrier and it is perfect. Would work well for a breakfast casserole too.

This cranberry croissant bread pudding is made the night before - then baked the next morning...

I've made it and it's really fabulous!

CRANBERRY CROISSANT BREAD PUDDING

Cranberries and croissants combine in this new style holiday bread pudding.

6 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups milk
2 cups cream 10%
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp. grated orange rind
1 tsp. vanilla
6 large croissants (5 x 3 inch)
1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce

In large bowl, mix eggs, milk, cream, sugar, orange rind and vanilla; set aside.

Cut croissants into 1 1/4 inch cubes; evenly scatter half in greased 13 x 9 inch glass baking dish. Spoon cranberry sauce evenly over top; scatter with remaining cubes. Gently pour milk mixture over top; let stand for 15 minutes, pressing occasionally. (Make ahead: Cover and refrigerate for up to 12 hours.)

Bake in 350 F. oven for 50 minutes or until puffy and knife inserted in centre comes out clean. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
