I want to get a Blender for my daughter's birthday ($100.00 Max.) Does anyone have the Braun 5-speed PowerMax or Cuisinart (600 watts or any other kind? I've heard pros and cons on both. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Elenor

Good question - I've never found one that works as promised. I often have to dump out

the contents and physically mash them by hand smileys/frown.gif

The blades LOOK mean, and I know they are sharp, but they never seem to blend anything above the bottom 2".

I only use mine once or twice a year for drinks. Just takes up space. Use the cusinart ...

mostly and occasionally the imersion blender.

I have the Cuisinart 600W- I find it works quite well, in fact it is

probably the best blender I have ever owned - Except for that Ronson Cook N' Stir that my folks had back in the '60's-

No blenders are fabulous, but this one is pretty darn good

I have 2: The Magic Bullet of informercials (works GREAT) and Hamilton Beach Glass Blender love it :

We inherited one of those drink blenders that have just 2 speeds--and it's the best blender.

Will check brand tonight. I find all those speeds on blenders are not very useful. Mostly, I want high and low, and this one does that, and with power.
