It called for only 1 teaspoon of agave syrup - I've never used it before and don't even know if my store carries it.

Do you think it's important to the overall flavor of the dish? What can I use as a substitute? Some sites said maple syrup - don't think that would work here... some said honey or corn syrup.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tess

The agave syrup in this recipe just brings up flavors in the recipe. . .

Try 3/4 to 1 teaspoons of sugar instead, don't worry about the liquid replacement. You could try the same amount of honey (I would use the lesser amount) or corn syrup.

Made it last night - used sugar - VERY yummy - just a few tweaks

After reading the reviews were some said it was way too salty (from the amount of soy and tamari), I decided to mix the soy, sugar and tamari in a small bowl and then spoon onto noodles until I felt I had added enough (there was probably 2 tablespoons of liquid left in the small bowl)

I used an 8.5 oz package of noodles instead of 6 and this amount fed the 2 of us with 1 serving leftover. The original recipe uses 6oz and says it serves 6.... I don't think that's enough for a dinner.

I rinsed the noodles as directed in cold water and when it came time to eat the noodles were cool - I'd rather for dinner the noodles to still be warm. If I were taking this on a picnic, then the cooler noodles would be fine.

I cut the 6 garlic cloves in quarters, they browned and softened nicely. It was good that they were larger pieces since they added flavor to the dish, we ate a few and were able to avoid eating all of them.... we'd reek of garlic for days if we ate them all!

Overall - this is on the will definately make again and again list!
