Need super easy caramel apple recipe

My kindergartener has his 6th birthday later this week as do a set of twins in his class (of 14 kids in the class, 3 share a birthday). the other mom and I were thinking of doing caramel apples as a treat for the kids (no cupcakes or candy allowed...has to be healthy and we figure apples will pass muster). Does anyone know of a way we can do it that will minimize mess and hassle? I was thinking of just slicing a bunch of apples up and squirting some store bought caramel sauce on them (we are not allowed anything homemade). I could cut the apples at home and toss with some lemon juice to save off browning (will oj do the same thing?)

Will that work or does anyone have a better idea?

Thanks.

Kathleen

Some kids may not like caramel (I didn't as a kid). How about providing little cups of caramel?

I've seen them in the produce section. Each kid can have their own and then dip or not. Plus kids like handling their own food.

I like this idea - a lot of kids don't care for it, or like their fruit plain. I'd also

check to make sure your "Healthy School Policy" allows for caramel, many do not.

You could make a yogurt-based dip and let the kids make their own fruit kabobs.
