French Dip Sandwich?

I'm entertaining a gourmet lunch group of 12 for 3 days.. already planned a big pan smoked chicken/mushroom pizza with green salad for one day;

Baguette pate sandwiches with potato salad the next day;

what would go with a French Dip sandwich? Two of my diners are crazy about angel hair pasta.. I did a Szechuan salad that was a huge hit..

what would you suggest? Do you have a favorite pasta recipe to share?

French dip has a lot of bread so I might go with a chopped veg salad

instead of pasta salad. Or a bean-type salad.

 
How about baby arugula, tossed with a little olive oil and a tiny drizzle of balsamic vinegar,

and topped with shaved Parmesan.

Arugula is great with beef, maybe because it's related to mustard and horseradish. With all the wonderful food you have planned a simple salad like this would be a nice relief.

 
Great idea Joe....I love arugula with roasted pine nuts... I will add some Parm next time.

 
Peggy, I make French -dip sandwiches often. They are filling and a comfort food. I have made your

Fresh Fruit Salad (on your website) with the grapes and apples with it and it is a wonderful compliment. The hot meat and Au Jus, warm buns are so savory. The salad offers freshness, crispness, tang plus color. It is lovely together! Pink Lady apples are available now and so are the wonderful red grapes. This combo would be great!

Hi Ann, my own fruit salad recipe was right under my nose but I never thought to use it

to go with my French Dip sandwiches until Karen prompted me. It is a fresh crunchy grape salad... one of my faves... you can view my photo, hopefully it may be what you are looking for.
